Gerhard P. Schroeder (1889-1980) was born into a prosperous Russian Mennonite family. His life later was shattered by events surrounding the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. The Schroder family migrated to Canada in the 1920s and later to the United States. Schroeder wrote a book about his experiences in revolutionary Russia entitled Miracles of Grace and Judgment.
